We recommend that you clean your Ultrabreathe, especially the mouthpiece, twice a week, bathe in warm soapy water for about 10 minutes, remove and then rinse under warm water whilst rubbing gently with a soft cloth before leaving to dry. Then, once a week deep clean using a baby’s bottle cold sterilising solution.
DO NOT USE BOILING WATER OR CLEAN IN A DISHWASHER!!
Used correctly, the Ultrabreathe can be used by almost everyone and has no harmful side effects. Very occasionally, however, there may be instances in which the creation of large negative pressure in the chest may exacerbate an existing condition.
If this happens advice should be sought from a Physician. If you are taking medication, suffer from a medical condition, (Asthma/COPD for example).
Whilst training with your Ultrabreathe, you should feel resistance when inhaling, but it should not be painful. If you feel pain when using the Ultrabreathe you should stop immediately and consult your doctor.
If you are uncertain as to whether the Ultrabreathe is appropriate for you, then you should consult your doctor prior to commencing training.
Above all, unless advised by your doctor you should not stop taking any medication – The Ultrabreathe is intended to complement existing treatments, not replace them.
There are no safety concerns for preventing young children, (above 8 years old) from using the Ultrabreathe. However, the following factors may affect their ability to use the device effectively:
They must be able to comfortably fit the mouthpiece in their mouth.
They must be old enough to understand how to effectively perform the breathing exercises.
They should only use the Ultrabreathe under the supervision of an adult. The Ultrabreathe contains small parts and is not suitable for children under 8 years.
No - To prevent the potential transmission of infections, we recommend that your Ultrabreathe is NOT shared with other users, including family members.
Don't expect results overnight - to make the most of your Ultrabreathe you will need to persevere with the training programme for a number of weeks.
Don't forget to use your Ultrabreathe standing or sitting and take care not to breathe in through your nose.
Try to make each breath in as EXPLOSIVE as possible so as to place the optimum starain on your respiratory muscles - as a guide it should take you no longer than about 3 SECONDS to fill your lungs.
