Boost
Performance
The patented
Ultrabreathe is used by athletes and sportspeople the world over to supercharge
their inspiratory muscles.
Using the principle of
resistance training there are two key ways the Ultrabreathe can help
give you the edge:
Warm
up: Supplement your usual routine prior to full body workout
or competition - traditional techniques tend to ignore the breathing
muscles.
Performance:
Follow our training regime for just 5 minutes per day to boost
pulmonary capacity and endurance. Increase the resistance as lung
function improves - and take advantage of the adjustable valve
system which allows you to determine the moment resistance is
experienced on inhalation.
Did you know that
recent research indicates a connection between trained respiratory
muscles and reduced lactate levels? Boutellier et al found that
-
respiratory training significantly increased the endurance time of
respiratory muscles
-
respiratory trained subjects had lost the sensation of
breathlessness
-
blood lactate concentrations were reduced during post training
exercise
In
conclusion they speculate * 'that
the reduction in blood lactate concentration was most likely caused
by an improved lactate uptake by the trained respiratory muscles.' * (1998, Med Sci
Sports Exerc 1998, Eur Jour Appl Physiol 1999)

Relief for breathlessness sufferers
Whilst
there are many underlying causes of breathlessness such as asthma,
emphysema and bronchitis, clinical research shows that improving the
strength and durability of the muscles we use to breathe in -
muscles which may have lost strength over the years due to poor
breathing habits or simply the ageing process - can both
significantly reduce the sensation of breathlessness and lead to
increased exercise tolerance and endurance.
Unfortunately
for many breathlessness sufferers the level of physical exercise
required to exercise these muscles is not an option. Indeed many
find themselves trapped in a vicious cycle of breathlessness and
inactivity from which there seems no escape.
Now,
thanks to the Ultrabreathe, you can relieve the symptoms of
breathlessness by giving your lungs a daily workout from the comfort
of the armchair without the need for vigorous physical exercise.
5
minutes a day is all it takes!
To begin with you set
the resistance at a low level, gradually increasing it as your lung
power improves. After a few weeks you should be starting to enjoy
the benefits of Ultrabreathe training - and after a month or so just
a few days training a week should be sufficient to maintain your
enhanced lung function.
Indeed
a survey revealed that, of those who had used their Ultrabreathe for
at least a month, 86% reported
improvements in their 'breathing / physical condition.' Read below
what some of them had to say.

Some comments from Ultrabreathe users
In 1999 Tangent
Healthcare mailed 200 Ultrabreathe users asking them to complete a
questionnaire. This is what they, and others, have to say:
I am well
impressed...it works so well that it is now an integral part of my
training as I train for a sponsored 400km run. B.
Maitland, Aberdeen
I think it is an
excellent product and found it does what is claimed...I can now walk
any distance without having to stop. O.
Mills, Norfolk
I feel that my lungs
are stronger now than at any time in my life. K.
Hill, London
This device you make
is brilliant for the heart and lungs. I have found just after a
weeks use my recovery rate has improved by 50%. RFN
Treliving, BFPO
I
sent off for the Ultrabreathe and now I couldn't do without it.
E.S., Essex
Hopefully
one day on prescription.
P. Lewis, Essex
After
using it a month I could breathe in longer and deeper. V.
Reay, Cleveland
After
using it for a few months my lungs felt stronger as did my general
physical condition.
L. Bazeley, Oxon
I've
used your product 25 breaths in each morning and evening and really
do feel so much better. Well done to you and your Company.
K. Curtis, Kent
My
personal belief is that it should be on prescription...it creates
that daily routine of respiratory exercise within your home so
simply. E.
Percival, Kent
On
the whole, any exercise that tones and strengthens the respiratory
muscles is of benefit.
P. Haggard, West Sussex
I
am a long time sufferer of breathing problems and your device is a
godsend to me. It is part of my medical equipment and I cannot do
without it.
P. Costelloe, Essex
It
allows me to walk a little further without distress. G.
Skudder, Lancs.
I
am enjoying walking again because I don't get so out of breath.
